Announcing “Bridging Gaps Across Difference” a new webinar series from Marnita’s Table! Every week we receive dozens of requests for advice on the best practices in communicating successfully with “the other,” whether it’s within our families, communities, teams, or workplaces.

 Join Marnita, CEO of Marnita’s Table for this engaging and informative webinar series. She will share her expertise and introduce you to some of the foundational concepts in interacting across difference. Come prepared for a fun, interactive and educational experience!

This free 90-minute webinar will have both presentational and interactive/Q&A components. Each session will begin with a brief 10 minute presentation followed by a collaborative deeper dive into the below topics as indicated by those attending and their interests.

This webinar will be in addition to our Tea at the Table informational event and is a basic introduction to working with Marnita’s Table and our experience engineering model of Intentional Social Interaction (IZI). You may be the only guest or others may join you. We recommend attending an overview before scheduling a one-on-one meeting. This is an opportunity to get your questions answered and get additional insight about whether you want or need a one-on-one conversation with our team.

The first 30 minutes of each webinar is: Intro to Intentional Social Interaction (“IZI”). Additional topics to be explored include:

  • Catalyzing genuine and enduring cross-cultural community connections;
  • Inviting! How do you get “them” to “the table.” Tips and technique for authentically welcoming marginalized, under-served and under-resourced community members;
  • Centering your community engagement experience through ensuring that every person in attendance feels as though “this event was created intentionally with me in mind”;
  • Writing grants for inspiring and measuring community collaboration;
  • Measuring Success: The real return on invest from bringing community together;
  • Emerge: How patience and active listening builds better bottom up community-based solutions;
  • Change! Adopting new practices
  • Research & Reflection: Why do you want to bring people together? What difference are you trying to bridge? What do YOU think will happen?
  • Effective collaboration across difference; and
  • Just Quit! How systems can stop fatiguing the communities they should be serving
